Information for patients
You want to get well again as quickly as possible. Your doctor has therefore recommended Melmak Ultrasound Treatment.
Melmak Ultrasound is low-intensity pulsed ultrasound to promote complete fracture healing.
The therapy device is rented. If you have any questions about costs and processing, our competent team in the office will be happy to help.
Telephone 0800 170 172 0 (toll-free from Germany) or
Phone +49 (0)8807 923922 (WhatsApp also possible on this number)
After ordering, you will immediately receive a therapy device and a detailed explanation and introduction to the therapy. Our medical product consultants will also be happy to answer any questions you may have during therapy.
In Germany, the employers' liability insurance associations often assume the costs of the ultrasound treatment if your accident was an accident at work.
This generally does not apply to the statutory health insurances. If you want to treat your non-healing fracture without surgery, you may have to bear the costs yourself. These are e.g. for 60 days about €1.620 (price include VAT, payment in installments is possible).
Private health insurance companies usually cover the treatment costs. We will be happy to provide you with application documents for your health or accident insurance free of charge and without obligation.
The treatment
Where does the therapy take place?
The patients receive a detailed explanation and instructions from the Melmak medical product consultant. Then they treat themselves at home for 20 minutes a day with the Melmak Ultrasound device.
The therapy device is designed for self-treatment. The treatment is completely painless.
How long does the treatment last?
Usually 30 or 45 days for fresh fractures and 90 or 120 days for poorly healing or non-healing fractures.
Melmak ultrasound has no known side effects and is very gentle on patients.
This also benefits risk patients such as diabetics, the elderly, vascular patients, smokers, patients with osteoporosis, etc.
Important for busy people and anyone in a hurry:
30 to 45 days of treatment are often sufficient to support the healing of simple bone fractures.
Contraindications (Melmak is not suitable for)
Do not treat with Melmak Ultrasound or only after prior consultation with your doctor if you have
- Cancer
- Children/adolescents whose skeleton is not yet fully grown (epiphyseal plate)
- Fractures of the skull or spine
- Pacemakers or similar medical implants
- Pregnancy
Sonication and metal implants (no heat is generated)
- Metal implants are not a contraindication for Melmak ultrasound treatment!
- As the ultrasound is pulsed, there is no thermal effect, i.e. nails and screws are not a problem. It must be noted that plates reflect the ultrasound; in this case, the fracture site must be treated with ultrasound parallel to the plate or from the opposite side.
The treatment site
- should, if possible, be marked by the doctor, or
- be clearly identifiable on the basis of X-ray images, scars or similar.
Low cost risk due to
"money-back guarantee".
If after 120 paid treatment days it can be proven that no bone formation has taken place, Melmak will refund the rent paid.*
(A service fee of €450 gross will be withhold).
*You will receive details of the guarantee with every quotation or you can contact the Melmak office staff.
